Our
Pastor
Bishop W.L. Butler, Sr.
Faithfully leading Cornerstone Pentecostal Church for over 50 years.
Bishop Wilbert L. Butler is the founder and senior pastor of Cornerstone Pentecostal Church in Columbus, Ohio. For more than 50 years, he has faithfully preached the Gospel and led the church with a deep commitment to prayer, faith, and the power of God.

Born on May 6, 1938 in Langley, South Carolina, Bishop Butler accepted Christ at an early age and recognized God’s call on his life. After serving four years in the United States Air Force, he settled in Columbus where his ministry journey continued to grow.

In 1971, Bishop Butler survived a devastating workplace explosion that left more than half of his body severely burned. While recovering in the hospital, he made a vow to God: if God healed him, he would dedicate his life to preaching the Gospel. Miraculously healed, he preached his first sermon just months later on Mother's Day in 1971.

In September 1972, Bishop Butler founded Cornerstone Pentecostal Church in his home with just a few people. Through faith and perseverance, the ministry continued to grow, and in 1985 the congregation moved into their current church building completely debt free.

Bishop Butler continues to lead Cornerstone today, standing as a living testimony of God’s faithfulness and grace.
